The Fall of the American Anime Industry
Pirating anime was how most popular shows like Ranma 1/2 and Cowboy Bebop made their way to the States in the first place. Before the Internet, trading VHS tapes of fansubs, anime captured from Japanese releases with homegrown English subtitles, was the only way to view these shows. Only a few shows like Speed Racer, Astro Boy, Voltron and Robotech were ever shown on American television. Many of those shows manipulated the original source material, sometimes combining multiple anime programs that had nothing to do with each other, tying them together with English dubbing and an American writer.

Watch the First Seven Minutes of Gundam Unicorn
Here is the first seven minutes of Gundam Unicorn, the newest Gundam show.
From the looks of the first seven minutes, the show reminds me of Gundam F91. It will have some serious elements and involve some character backstory. It will be releasing on March 12 on Blu-ray. It will be interesting to see what the general reviews will be on this.
